BROUGHTON CASTLE



Warwick District U3A are endeavouring to arrange a trip to Broughton Castle near Banbury during August 2008. The trip will consist of a guided tour of the castle, a light lunch, viewing the gardens, followed by home-made cake and a cup of tea. The trip will commence at around 11.30 a.m. and arrive back at about 5.00 p.m. The cost is unknown at the moment but will probably be in the region of £12.00 depending on the type of lunch chosen (ploughman's, quiche and salad, or cooked meat and salad).
Broughton Castle is the home of Lord and Lady Saye and Sele (Fiennes). It is reputed to be the most beautiful castle in Britain - why not have a look and see if you agree. Please see Info 83 for details of contacts etc.



PRE-CHRISTMAS BREAK



Manor House Hotel, Okehampton, Devon
Sunday 7th - Friday 12th December 2008

This will be the 14th visit to Okehampton - it has always been a very happy way of spending a few days relaxing before Christmas.
If you are a member, do come and join us!
The total cost for a five night stay will be between £205-£215 per head for a twin or double room, depending on party rate discount, and slightly more for those wishing to have a single room. A deposit of £46 per head is needed by Thursday 1st May 2008. Please see Info 83 for more details and contacts.




The following three events are being organised by the Ramblers Group, but are open to all members of the U3A. If you are interested in any of the trips please contact John Innocent (02476 412487).

WARNERS: THORESBY HALL HOTEL AND SPA, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

A 4 day/5 nights trip to the Warner's Thoresby Hall Hotel and Spa from Monday 1st September to Friday 5th September 2008 is being organised. The cost will be £239 which will include accommodation, breakfast and an evening meal. Bookings have now been taken, but have a word with John Innocent if interested.

IRONBRIDGE WITH THE RAMBLING GROUP

The Rambling Group annual outing will be on 24th June 2008 to ironbridge. The cost of the coach will be £14.00 per person (this figure excludes the cost of admission to any of the amenities/sites etc.)  The coach will be departing from Offchurch and further details of times etc will be notified later.

A PICNIC DAY

A coach trip and a ramble in the National Forest area is being organised for Wednesday 24th August 2008. Several places of interest to be visited for ramblers and non-ramblers. Details later.
